FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a reservation?
We recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends and holidays. Walk-ins are welcome on weekdays, but seating is not guaranteed. Book online or call +886-49-700-8188.
Is there parking nearby?
Public parking lots are available near Ita Thao Pier, about a 2–3 minute walk from the restaurant. On holidays, arrive early to secure a spot.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB). A 10% service charge applies to all items.
Do you have children's meals or high chairs?
High chairs are available. We don't offer a dedicated children's menu, but some dishes can be adjusted in portion or flavor. Please let us know when booking.
Can I host a private event?
We welcome private dining, proposals, birthday celebrations, and small gatherings. Please call +886-49-700-8188 to discuss details in advance.
How much should I budget per person? Is there a minimum charge?
Our minimum is one main course per person (NT$500 and up), with a 10% service charge added to all items. Typical à la carte budgets run NT$1,200-2,500 per person; ordering the signature 21-day dry-aged ribeye or the dry-aged feast for two brings it to NT$2,500-4,000 per person. The two-person Chef's Sharing Set starts at NT$1,200 and is the most cost-effective entry point.
Are there vegetarian or plant-based options?
We don't offer a full vegetarian set menu, but we have several vegetable-forward dishes including roasted highland vegetables (NT$300), baked mixed mushrooms with thorn scallion (NT$300), and herbed focaccia with olive oil (NT$100). For lacto-ovo vegetarians, please mention it when booking and we'll adapt dishes accordingly.
Can I let the kitchen know about food allergies?
Please tell us about any allergens (nuts, seafood, dairy, eggs, etc.) when you book. The kitchen will do its best to avoid or substitute ingredients. Some dishes use indigenous Taiwanese spices (maqaw mountain pepper, thorn scallion); guests with sensitivities to the Lauraceae family should mention this in particular.
Is there a dress code?
There's no formal dress code — smart casual is suggested. For proposals, anniversaries, and other special occasions, many guests choose more formal attire for photos.
How far in advance should I cancel or change a reservation?
Please call +886-49-700-8188 at least 24 hours before your reservation. For the Under the Stars private room or the dry-aged feast for two, please give us 48 hours or more so we can adjust ingredient preparation.
How long does a typical meal take?
Please allow approximately 1.5 hours for dining. The Under the Stars private room runs on the same time slot.
How early should I book during peak season?
For summer (July-August), long weekends, New Year, and Valentine's Day, we recommend booking at least 2 weeks ahead. Regular weekends usually need only 5-7 days. The Under the Stars private room requires at least 3 days' notice year-round.
What's the easiest way to get to Yummy from Taipei?
By car, take Highway 6 and exit at Puli — about 3.5 hours from Taipei to Ita Thao Pier. By public transport, take the high-speed rail to Wuri (Taichung) and transfer to the Sun Moon Lake bus (about 4 hours total). We're right by the pier — just tell the driver "No. 3 Shuishalian Street, 2nd floor."
Are pets allowed in the restaurant?
To preserve the dining experience, we don't accept pets (guide dogs and assistance dogs excepted). The Sun Moon Lake area has many pet-friendly accommodations and cafés to choose from.
